New Hope Tattoo Club

New Hope Tattoo Club is a Bochum-based studio built around a single artist, Thomas, and his dedication to custom work. The studio's philosophy is "individuelle Einzelstücke," or one-of-a-kind custom tattoos designed in close collaboration with each client rather than off-the-shelf flash. Thomas began tattooing after years spent training and working as a guest artist at studios in Schwerte, Essen, Halle, and Braunschweig, later opening his own shop in September 2002. Since 2019, he has run the space entirely on his own, free from the noise and distraction of other artists or walk-in traffic.

The result is a calm, private, and unhurried working environment in Bochum, focused entirely on custom collaboration rather than a fast-paced studio floor. Stylistically, the work draws heavily on Japanese tradition, referencing woodblock masters like Hokusai, Hiroshige, and Kuniyoshi alongside contemporary manga and anime influences, blended with inspiration from renowned modern tattoo artists. Beyond tattooing, Thomas's creative interests extend into graphic design, logo work, art exhibitions, interior design projects, and knife-making.
