Pretty in Ink Tattoos Köln has been tattooing since 1992, when it was founded by Micha in Cologne's city center before later relocating to its current home in Köln-Ehrenfeld. Micha inked his first tattoo in 1983, and Drea, who emigrated from Hagen to Cologne in 1991, has tattooed professionally since 1993 and played a key role in the studio's move to Ehrenfeld. Together they cover the full spectrum of styles, with traditional, oldschool, and realistic tattoos among their specialties, and each artist bringing personal preferences that let clients choose an approach suited to their motif. Both artists are able to draw and tattoo nearly any requested design.

The studio is a member of the D.O.T. (Deutsche Organisierte Tätowierer) and U.E.T.A. (United European Tattoo Artists) associations, and regular participation in tattoo conventions keeps the team connected with fellow artists and current on studio hygiene standards. All equipment is individually sealed and sterilized in an autoclave, which is regularly inspected by a recognized hygiene institute, and single-use items like needles, grips, and ink caps are disposed of after one use.
