Founded by Florian Riffel, who has worked in the industry for nearly two decades and is regularly consulted as an expert by TV, press and media, the studio takes a deliberately different approach from a typical shop. Rather than maximizing appointments, the focus is on precise planning, clean technical execution, and results built to last. Tattoo artists here work across a wide range of styles, including anime/manga, blackwork, cover-up, dot work, fine line, freehand, geometric, illustration, Japanese, lettering, mandala, Maori, neotraditional, Nordic, oldschool, portrait, realistic, sketch style and white ink. Walk-ins are welcome for both tattoos and piercings, alongside personal consultations for custom designs.

Piercing services cover an extensive range of placements and styles, all carried out with an emphasis on hygiene, sterility and unhurried, honest consultation rather than rushed, discount-style service. The studio also runs a specialized offering called the Berlin Tattoo and Piercing Ambulance with MED INK, working alongside dermatologists and plastic surgeons to camouflage scars, reconstruct skin, and restore details such as nipples following medical procedures, alongside addressing allergic reactions and other tattoo- or piercing-related skin issues. Every tattoo begins with a clear conversation about design, placement and anatomy before any work begins. Autark is open Monday through Saturday and maintains a blog and vlog sharing practical, experience-based insight into tattoo history, allergies, aftercare and technique.
