SALTWATER INKWORKS - Artiste: Lex Roulor

Saltwater Inkworks is home to tattoo artist Lex Roulor, working in Grenoble since 2010. The studio specializes in dotwork, geometric design, black & gray, and abstract tattooing, building each piece around points, density, and layered texture, or clean lines, symmetry, and balanced structure depending on the direction chosen. Contrast and shading are used to create bold, timeless black & gray pieces, while abstract work leans into free-form shapes and personal interpretation. Every tattoo is custom designed, developed around the client's body, chosen placement, and the story they want to carry, rather than pulled from a fixed catalog of designs.

The studio operates by appointment only, and projects begin with a conversation about the idea, body zone, approximate size, and preferred style before moving into design and scheduling. Clients are guided through a clear process: initial contact, project framing, personalized design, the tattoo session itself, and aftercare follow-up. Lex Roulor describes the working atmosphere as serious, relaxed, and human at once, with an emphasis on discussing and adjusting concepts until they genuinely work on the body before any needlework begins. Based in Grenoble, the studio welcomes both precise, fully formed ideas and looser, still-developing concepts.
