Karratu Tattoo

Karratu Tattoo is a tattoo studio in the La Peña neighborhood of Bilbao, Spain, founded in 2020 by a collective of artists who met at the Fine Arts Faculty and named the studio after "El Cuadrado," the courtyard where they used to gather to share projects. The team specializes in Blackwork and Blackout, Ornamental and Symbolism, Fine Line and Realism, and unconventional Color work, with each resident artist bringing their own graphic style to the table. Guest artists from Spain and abroad also work alongside the resident team, and every piece is designed as a custom, made-to-measure project rather than flash or "fast food" tattooing.

The studio moved from Bilbao's city center to La Peña in 2025, choosing a larger, quieter location to offer a slower, more personal experience. The space was designed to be safe, spacious and bright, with attention paid to light, music and atmosphere so that getting tattooed feels like a calm, shared ritual rather than a cold, clinical procedure. The collective favors collaboration and idea-sharing over any "rock star" tattooer attitude, prioritizing listening to each client's story and guiding them through the process. The studio holds a hygiene and sanitation certification and is open Monday to Friday.
