Avant Garde Tattoo

Avant Garde Tattoo is a private tattoo studio in Cheltenham, set in a Grade II listed Regency building opposite the Brewery Quarter. Opened in April 2021 by founders Lee Morrison and Dirtnap, the studio was created to offer a relaxed, unhurried environment where artists can take their time over each piece. Lee brings over 20 years of tattooing experience, gained partly while living and working in Germany, America and South Africa, and specialises in blackwork, geometric and line work while remaining open to other styles. The team also includes Keiran Hills, developing his neo traditional and blackwork technique, and Rosie Todman, who focuses on fine line, illustrative, ornamental, black and grey and colour tattooing, alongside mastectomy and freckle tattooing.

The studio specialises in custom tattoo work spanning blackwork, geometric designs, fine line, illustrative pieces, black and grey, dotwork, script, neo traditional, animal motifs, oriental inspired artwork, memorial tattoos, naive art and large-scale sleeve or back piece projects. Every design is created bespoke for the client rather than copied, with free consultations offered to discuss ideas before a custom design is produced at no extra charge. Clients travel from across Gloucestershire for original, considered work built to age well and last a lifetime.
