Amanda West Tattoos

Amanda West Tattoos is based in Gloucester, where Amanda has been tattooing full time since 1998 at Alzone Tattoo Studio. Her path into tattooing grew from a creative upbringing and a fine art, fashion and textiles education at Gloucestershire College, alongside a longstanding love of alternative music culture. In 1997 she was offered an apprenticeship by Alan Hale of Alzone Tattoo Studio, and she has continued working there ever since, building a career centred on custom, client-led designs.

Her tattooing blends semi-realistic imagery with hand-drawn elements, worked either together or separately, giving her a versatile approach across both colour and black and grey pieces. Designing bespoke tattoos to match each client's ideas is central to her work, and she values the challenge of shaping custom concepts rather than repeating set designs. She also places importance on collaborating with other artists, attending select tattoo conventions and staying open to future guest spots away from home. This ongoing exchange with the wider tattoo community continues to inform and refresh her craft in Gloucester.
