Tattooing by Barny

Tattooing by Barny is run by Barnaby Titchener, a second generation tattooer based above what is recognized as the oldest established tattoo studio in Oxfordshire, on Oxford's Cowley Road. Barnaby grew up immersed in the craft, drawing from childhood and spending time in the studio copying designs from the walls long before he began tattooing himself. He specializes in traditional old school tattooing, drawing on references from the archives of the Tattoo History Museum for inspiration, and in his spare time publishes books on tattoo history.

Bookings can be made by phone, Facebook, or Instagram, with a non-refundable deposit required to confirm an appointment, payable by PayPal, bank transfer, or cash at the studio. Walk-in consultations are also welcome, though calling ahead is recommended to ensure availability. The studio has put together guidance on its tattooing procedures introduced during the Covid-19 outbreak. As with all UK studios, clients must be over 18 and photo ID is required, with no exceptions for parental consent.
