The Original Dr Feelgood Tattoo Studio

The Original Dr Feelgood Tattoo is Liverpool city centre's oldest established tattoo studio, founded in 1992 by Ray Charnock on Slater Street as a tiny one-artist shop. Over 30 years it has grown into a Liverpool institution, now based on Hanover Street above Salt House Tapas and opposite John Lewis, and currently hosts four resident artists producing work recognised as among the city's finest. Booking is advised, though walk-ins and spontaneous appointments are welcomed from time to time, and ID is required for all tattoo work.

The studio offers a full range of styles, including custom design, traditional, watercolour, linework, shaded, realism, full colour, dot work, animal pieces and cover-ups. The team maintains a clean, professional and friendly environment, with vegan, cruelty-free and eco-conscious artists on hand, and the studio is fully LGBTQ community welcoming. Shop manager Apryl offers a warm welcome to every visitor and assists with enquiries. Alongside tattooing, the studio provides piercing services, online consultations, and gift vouchers and merchandise available in store.
