Tattoos By The Bay is a boutique tattoo and permanent cosmetics studio serving the Pinole, California area, led by artist Mini Patankar, an internationally recognized tattoo artist and paramedical tattooing pioneer. Trained originally in Fine Arts before entering tattoo artistry in 2006, Mini works across black-and-grey portraits, old-school designs, fine lines, sleeves, and customized cover-ups, including transforming faded or unwanted tattoos into new designs. The studio's approach blends fine-art realism with technical precision, and Mini's work has been featured in publications including INKPPL International Tattoo Magazine, Outlook India, and Mid-Day, along with recognition such as the Unique Women Achiever's Award and Best PMU Artist at the Global PMU Summit 2024.
Beyond artistic tattooing, Tattoos By The Bay specializes in paramedical tattooing, including scar camouflage, stretch mark coverage, vitiligo micropigmentation, birthmark blending, and hyper-realistic 3D nipple and areola reconstruction for breast cancer survivors following mastectomy or lumpectomy. Sessions are private and performed to medical-grade hygiene standards, using custom pigment matching and layered 3D shading for natural-looking results. Mini is also a trainer in eyebrow microblading, lip blush, lash extensions, and nail extensions, mentoring aspiring artists alongside her tattooing practice. Every client is treated with empathy, dignity, and patience, with a calm, pressure-free consultation process built around individual anatomy, skin tone, and personal comfort.
