Thirteen Roses Tattoo & Aesthetics is Maryland Heights, Missouri's first artist-owned creative collective, established in September 2019 as the city's first tattoo shop. Founded by St. Louis-based tattooist Matthew Womack after a decade in the industry, the studio brings together a crew of artists—including Womack, PJ Piel, Brian Loyd, Kevin Myers, Jason Krummel, Heather Lambert, and Sage Lakas—each contributing their own specialty. Tattoo styles offered span fine line, black and grey, color, realism, traditional, custom design, sleeves, and cover-ups, giving clients a wide range of options whether they're getting a first tattoo or a tenth. The shop was voted the 2024 St. Louis A-List Tattoo Studio winner.
Beyond tattooing, the studio operates Thirteen Roses Aesthetics, offering lashes, permanent makeup, and brow services alongside piercing, tattoo consultations, and aftercare guidance. The name reflects the shop's philosophy: thirteen is considered both lucky and unlucky in tattoo culture, while roses represent timelessness, and the studio aims to deliver quality tattooing built to last. Open six days a week, Monday through Saturday, the collective welcomes walk-ins and consultations for custom work of any size, from small black and grey pieces to bold color designs, serving the greater St. Louis area from its Maryland Heights location.
