State Street Tattoo is a tattoo studio and gallery located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, established in 2010. The shop is owned by BJ Betts, who brings over 30 years of experience and specializes in unique hand lettering and black and grey work, with a well-rounded skill set across all styles. Fellow artist Gia Sehein trained in illustration at Parsons School of Design and is open to all styles, with a particular affinity for black and grey pieces and floral or nature-inspired designs; she is also trained in areola restorative and paramedical tattooing. Artist Ben Fuentes Romero rounds out the team, specializing in detailed black and grey tattoos and collaborating closely with clients to translate their ideas into lasting artwork.
The studio does not tattoo anyone under 18, even with parental consent, and does not currently offer piercing services. Appointments cannot be booked by phone; clients are asked to stop by the shop in person or email their chosen artist directly to arrange a session. Beyond tattooing, the gallery connects clients to related projects, including BJ Betts's signature ink and needle collaborations with Intenze Tattoo Ink and Black Claw Needles, along with his independently sold merchandise and books.
