M & M Tattooing has served Downingtown, Pennsylvania for more than 35 years, first opening in the Borough of Downingtown in 1989 before relocating in 1998 to its current location just outside the borough, where it has remained ever since. The shop is owned by Monica Barnes, one of the first women in Pennsylvania to open her own tattoo shop, who runs the business alongside her husband John. Known as a family-friendly shop, it welcomes both walk-ins and appointments, and customers are encouraged to call ahead for availability.
Beyond standard tattoo work, the studio offers piercing services with walk-ins available seven days a week, jewelry included in the price. Clients booking a tattoo are asked to send reference images via email or social media so they can be paired with the right artist before finalizing an appointment. Monica also teaches cosmetic tattooing alongside her daughter Mandy, specializing in realistic 3D areola tattoos for breast cancer survivors. Gift cards are also available. With decades of continuous operation in the same community, this shop reflects a long-standing, family-rooted presence in Downingtown's tattoo scene.
