Licensing & Training
- Artists must work in a licensed tattoo studio.
- Each studio must obtain a Tattoo Studio License from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
- Completion of a bloodborne pathogens training course is required for all artists.
Studio & Health Regulations
- Studios must pass annual health inspections and follow strict sanitation laws.
- Proper sterilization of reusable equipment using an autoclave is required.
- Single-use needles, gloves, and ink caps must be used for every procedure.
Age Restrictions
- Minors under 18 years old cannot receive tattoos, except for medical or cosmetic reasons with parental consent.
