- Shops must have a current sanitation permit and undergo regular inspections.
- Tattooing must be done in a licensed facility; home-based tattooing is illegal.
- Strict hand hygiene and sterilization protocols must be followed.
Age Restrictions
- Minors under 18 years old may be tattooed only if a parent, tutor, or legal guardian accompanies them and consents, with ID verification (La. R.S. 14:93.2(A)-(B)).
