A frontal lion head symbolizes courage, strength and pride, and is one of the most common animal choices in tattooing across cultures. The radiating lines around the head suggest a sun or halo motif, reinforcing readings of nobility, leadership or royalty. Some wear it for the astrological Leo association, others simply for the animal's raw presence.
Where it sits
This is a circular, symmetrical composition, which suits the chest, upper back, or the front of a thigh where the radial rays have room to spread evenly. It could work on a forearm but the sunburst would likely need cropping or curving around the limb, losing some of its balance. At smaller sizes on a calf or shoulder cap, the fine stippling in the mane and inner ear detail would start to disappear.
