Completion of a 360-hour tattoo apprenticeship is required. Artists must pass both a written exam and a practical skills test. Studio & Health Regulations All tattoo studios must be licensed and inspected by the Oregon Health Authority. Strict sanitation procedures must be followed, including autoclave sterilization. Single-use needles, gloves, and ink caps are required for each procedure. Age Restrictions Minors under 18 years old cannot be tattooed, even with parental consent.
